12:43 isnt nf5 just winning a pawn
17:00 there seems to be a bug, he got connect 4 and the game is still continuing
21:43 Why did White resign? They're a pawn up and it's far from clear that the game is lost. (The computer evaluation has very little to do with whether a human player would actually win this position.) Making the resignation even stranger is that White only took a few seconds for it…what's the rush?
i hope you do a video on the London system game between Ian and Ding! would be so cool
53:52 (ish) "Okay, we're getting something weird …" Sounds like half of my games. 🙂
I find it odd that games that don't finish within the tournament time don't count for the tournament. I would've though that any game in play at the time of the tournament ending would be allow to complete and to count. Strange rule.
29:29 nasty pins
Was watching a 3hours long video by eric and he uploaded this one
You keep delivering, Eric! I learn a lot from your videos and it's always just a nice and chill session. Thank you!
Oh no, they are super polite when I blunder I tend to swear
Hearing you talk about John being one of your role models really brings a smile to my face, as in my book you both are hands down the two best chess content creators out there!
I just watched your old content on the Ponziani, back when you had all those Twitchy chat crap all over the screen, and someone asked you about how you get out from under a bad losing streak and you said just find a noob to beat, maybe it builds your confidence back. I was snickering all through the third game.
John got me hooked onto chess videos on Youtube and that rabbit hole led me to you! You both are the peak of calmly delivered, but extremely gripping chess content!
"Vulture-Focused" : Oh No! My Rating ….
"Ask and Ye shall receive. Just add the magic word"
No one can doubt Eric's dedication to Connect4
Casually sprinkling in Using the Clock as a Weapon; very thematic (2:37) 😀
Please stop berserking! The quality of your chess collapses.
The knight pair 🤣
Bravo! Most enjoyable!
Eric, we can't say it enough. Where other chess players have fans, you have a die-hard legion of admirers. For the same reason we admire Ding, we adore your dry wit together with a humble approach. By george, we need more like you. Best of luck in your next tournament.
Your style seems to be changing, reminds me of grandmasters who focus on slow improving moves, rather Karpovish.
As much as I like when Eric says DOOOOH, is as much as I don't like to hear it.
"I believe that the only courage anybody ever needs is the courage to follow your own dreams." _Oprah Winfrey
Looks like John stopped playing midway through the tournament
Oh no my arrow settings.
Small mistake in the game annotations 20:00 game is vs Safar63 not DjAlber
24:51 everybody love some nice sax
