Blitz Chess Tournament #12 (Chess 960)

This is a 55-minute Fischer Random (Chess 960) tournament I competed in on lichess, namely the Chess-Network Arena Tournament. This tournament was played while broadcasting at . Time controls are set at 3 minutes per player.

I’m a self-taught National Master in chess out of Pennsylvania, USA who was introduced to the game by my father in 1988 at the age of 8. The purpose of this channel is to share my knowledge of chess to help others improve their game. I enjoy continuing to improve my understanding of this great game, albeit slowly. Consider subscribing here on YouTube for frequent content, and/or connecting via any or all of the below social medias. Your support is greatly appreciated. Take care, bye. ๐Ÿ˜€

  1. Anyone want to be YouTube bros and subscribe to each others channels?

  2. you are seriously the most entertaning chess player! you are so fun to watch! keep up the good work!

  3. "omg I'm playing as white!"
๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ sorry to laugh at your pain

  4. Don't blame yourself for what you can't control. That last game isn't why you were tied, it was the game you didn't move.

  5. In the last game you should have offered a draw, if your opponent accepted they would have been 1st and you would be 2nd.

  6. The Urban Dictionary edit was a fantastic touch, Jerry. Yet another fabulous video!

  7. Even though he's joked about doing it in a pinch in past videos, I can't see Jerry ever nonafrying someone.

For some reason to me it feels like a more unsportsmanlike thing to do than flagging someone in a losing position, though the distinction may be arbitrary.

  8. yeah that happened to me before when the board is flipped at the start of the game for some random reason maybe accidentally hitting the flip button or a glitch.

  9. Why not offer a draw when you were getting Nona fried? That way they got first and you got second, rather than them getting second and you getting third. Feels worse, but you get a better podium position nonetheless.

  10. Watching this video/ thinking about chess960 and castling gave me an interesting thought.
What if the only pieces you changed on the chess board were switching the black king on e and black queen on d, so that the starting position wasn't symmetrical and kings couldn't castle in the same alignment on the king side/ queen side, always creating an imbalance .

  11. I hardly ever rate videos but Jerry, this is the best chess video I've ever seen! You were white hahaha

  12. I was laughing so hard when you were waiting for them to move ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ damn that's quality entertainment

I'm so glad you were able to laugh at yourself afterward lol

  13. "back to basics- WHAT COLOR ARE YOU PLAYING" ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

  14. Awww those results made me so sad ๐Ÿ™ if only you knew what the color white meant

  15. Nona fry is now in the Urban Dictionary thanks to ChessNetwork. he got Nona fried in this one.

  16. I love Chess960. I wish it would replace the classical game, at least at longer time controls.

  17. "Oh I'm white, shut up and make a move" – Jerry

    Im dying
