This is a speed chess (Crazyhouse) tournament (Hourly Crazyhouse Arena) I competed in on lichess.org while livestreaming on . Time controls are 3 minutes per player. The tournament is 55 minutes long.
I’m a self-taught National Master in chess out of Pennsylvania, USA who was introduced to the game by my father in 1988 at the age of 8. The purpose of this channel is to share my knowledge of chess to help others improve their game. I enjoy continuing to improve my understanding of this great game, albeit slowly. Hey Jerry, do you think a chess variant like crazyhouse could ever become competitive?
It is fascinating to me how such a seemingly small change to the core game mechanics can change both strategy and basic tactics so immensely.
I would love to see two GMs duking it out and people analysing the absurd amount of options they had to consider.
Love your content by the way!
Poor Jerry.. He burns up so much time at the start…. always left scrambling near the end. Or if he doesn't waste time he just gives up soooo many pieces at the start that the opponent weathers the aggression and then has an entire board to drop and attack with lol… GGs the whole time.. even the smothered 😛
wonder who the best crazyhouse player in the world is. is it a GM?
6:12 is dropping a bishop on e7 or g7 allowed? If so, is it a good idea?
Love these games jerry! Wish there was more!
15:17 to get to the weird position in the thumbnail.
too crazy for me to appreciate
lol that was funny, when he got the 75 dollar donation, wow! I can buy a lot of granola bars with that 😂
Can somebody tell me when Jerry streams so I can try to play with him?
"lets take with the knight" takes with the bishop
hi Jerry, nice to see you playing some Crazyhouse, it made me laugh when you played Qxf6 at 15:40 and said it was good.
YAY FINALLY TANK U SOO MUCH I SO HAP PEA ASDVFHVDAAEDNHTFB sorry I died there from a second now give me ur bacon
You ever tried playing Shogi?
I joined Lichess just to play this game, Jerry, you did that. I love your CH vids, always get new tactical thought patterns.
Faker Senpai? 🤔
faker senpai lol
I love how Jerry stays all serious and solid in standard chess games, but goes full aggressive on Crazy House xD
37:37
You could have had the queen with Nf4!
56:48 queen drop pawn drop who else thought of the the song bad and boujee lol
When people are donating money how are they doing it via his twitch channel. And I have seen another for of donation I believed they were referred to as bits what are they and what are they used for?
Forgive the dubious grammar my predictive text is causing havoc
You're the best Jerry 🙂
nice vid
I'm cringing every time you arbitrarily sack or decline free material…
29:12 Man would it had been funny if he had chosen Qg7 for mate in 1 hahhahaha (great video like always btw)
At first, I thought that you were given your own pieces back that your opponent captures. That would be a very strange, but probably less crazy variant, haha. Though, maybe that would be very tactical as you avoid taking valuable pieces.
What an absolutely wild variant! I can't even begin to follow what's going on. You claim to be a beginner at this variant, yet your moves are precise and powerful. You are a true master at all things chess, Jerry!
you suck
Hi Jerry! Correct me if I am wrong, pawns can be dropped on all the legal squares except the 1st and 8th rank. That is one extra rank than the arrows you showed, a very important one concerning king safety! ;]
32:25 – "Yeah why not, who needs a queen?" XD
Amazing. Too much fun
in real life r u a trans species knight/horse?
Jerry you are so indecisive sometimes!! good video nonetheless
Really pleased to see you playing crazyhouse, Jerry! Wish more people loved this awesome variant!
oh no i got mated
You lost me at kitty chess Mr. Network.
Yikes I am bad enough at normal chess….well done for playing this variant to that level!
5:01 Remember the last time you tried to change the settings while in-game Jerry? X'D
kiddy chess!
37:29 Nc5 You could take his queen!
Nice show Jerry. I laughed my heart out when you missed the second smothered mate. Maybe it was time pressure.
49:57 RUUUNN KING !! I say that to my king all the time whenever he's about to get mated
At uni we'd play this IRL with two boards and four players (to get past the problem of captured pieces being the wrong colour). Was a lot of fun. We had the rule that you couldn't drop pieces to check though. Made for some truly weird constructions being put together and real back and forth games. Dropping in check gives unstoppable combos a lot of the time, these games are always short. I think our version was better.
Crazy house is quickly becoming my favorite variant to watch him play
I'm sorry but what does OTB stand for? Nobody ever answers me
All we ever are is listeners.
Super chess player, monster at Three-check – but in crazyhouse ( compared to the other variants ) this is just bad
"Let's try something different", and at 15:01, you got the same position as the last game…
At 4:30 could you play g5 then place a pawn on f4 to win the bishop?
Level 1 Stockfish regularly beats me. Can you explain the tactics?
