Thank you Magnus Carlson for giving up your world title otherwise we wouldn't have witnessed such entertainment championship… Ding and Ian gave everything… beautiful play by both of them… they both are winners for me…Good luck Ian for all future tournaments…
Ian knocking the chess pieces over at 4:37:46 to delay promotion. GENIUS.
04:37:47 💔
I was rooting for Ding but daaaamn this was so hard to watch. This guy lost to Magnus in 2021, was stripped of all rights to participate under the flag of his motherland, qualified for the WCC again to get his revenge just to see Carlsen withdrawing and now this. Heartbreaking.
I supported Ian from the beginning it's a heartbreak for me seeing him loss. But congrats to ding.
Random 800 rated scrubs in chat saying "Nepo so bad" are actually sad
As if y'all would understand 1% of what Ian does in your lifetimes
It's crazy that they interview the finalist as well as the champion. In most individual sports, the person who lost gets to goes away in silence to reflect
Ding god mode❤
I was here!
At the end of game 4 Ding said: I don’t want blitz, I want bullet
Go Ding Liren 🎉
5:04:50 could someone translate?
why is the audi oof the conference so f low?
Rg6 will be immortal.

Congratulations ding 🎉
But the way nepo collapsed hit hard😢 what a WCC
4:28:10
Ian hand is shaking at last.
..his whole body cries except his eyes…
So many inaccuracies in this championship, on both parts. It was more about punishing mistakes rather than good moves. But I feel Nepo played better chess
The Comments in a nutshell:
1) Respect to Ding.
2) Nepo is devastated.
3) Ding is chilling.
Ding is a gangsta, that Rg6 was crazy
Trembling of nepo's hands when he knew it's over😢
5:07:55 when nepo so boring lol
Ding Chilling Ding Winnig
@4:37:39 man so hard to watch 😢
nepo got baited hard by that repetition, Ding, take out the motivation to play out of nepo by doing that, nepo relaxed, because he thought it's a draw. g6

of all things, ding first thanked his friend
Ding is incredible. After all the times he was screwed over, the pandemic, and the struggle during and after. He finally gets rewarded. Still not in form, still struggling, against a more experienced player in the world championship and he still wins. What a story.
I am no one to judge these players. But, sincerely, once again I saw today, Luck dominating effort. Bad luck Nepo. GG Ding.
Congratulations Ding well deserved Champ!
am I the only one or is everyone having the urge to play some brilliant moves rn… which will be blunders ofc
Congratulations 🎊 Ding, world chess champion 🏆 2023
that clutch from Ding with so little time
Congrats to ding
It takes some serious guts to play Rg6. But a champion needs to have guts!
They need an interpreter for the press conference. You could tell Ding obviously wasn’t comfortable with questions in English!
Self pinned for immortality

Win Nepo🙏🙏👍👍🇭🇺
I wish that Fabi to become world chess champion.
4:28:18 the moment when shit hits the fan…
It is a shame the reporters are so pathetic. Next World Championship, they should only be able to suggest a topic the players can speak on or pass. Maybe 4 words max from each reporter. The longer the questions, the more absurd the assumptions became. Dedicating the win? What kind of question is that? Insisting that he already has plans to celebrate with his team? Obviously, the team will organize that…he would be exhausted. Stupid reporters.
Yeah. Just categories, or simple questions without assumptions:
Weather
Venue
How you won?
How you prepared?
Rest days
Scheduled tournaments
Your team
Food
Sleep
Your opponent
Chess in your country
…
And that reporter trying to get Ian in trouble with the authorities…what's with that? Trying to get him imprisoned or something? Got to make his bad day a little worse?
And if the conference is going to be in English, the person facilitating it should be a native speaker.
All those Russian questions and not a one in Chinese, not even a Chinese accent? Don't the Chinese care? It is very sad the Chinese have turned their backs on culture from other countries. Of course, Trump is responsible for that. And Biden has not made any effort to smooth out the ruffled feathers either. If you look at the list of young chess prodigies, the Chinese names have evaporated. The Chinese have just one player 21 or younger in the top 100 of 21 and younger. India has 18. The US has 13. Russia 6. Azerbaijan, Serbia, and Uzbekistan have 5 each. I guess all the talent moved to Chinese chess and Go? Or is the youth more damaged from industrial pollution? I think that is what happened to the US for decades…all the lead from exhaust, damaging all the fetuses, producing permanent brain damage. Finally, got rid of that in 1996. We still use it in the small aircraft fuel, so it is a bad idea to live close to a small, busy airport. We still use it in starter batteries, and the fairly clean smelters were banned by Obama but were replaced by dirty ones right over the US-Mexican boarder, resulting in likely more lead exposure over here than there was, and much worse in Mexico. And we still have lead in, older plumbing, ammunition, wire shielding, and fishing sinkers. Hopefully, we will get that replaced. Dangerous to live near a shooting range as well. China has gone crazy mining more lead to make lead-acid batteries for slow budget electric cars. That can't be good. A study in 2018 strongly suggested that more than 400,000 Americans are dying each year because of low level lead exposure.
4:37:40 is the moment when Ian realizes there's nothing he can do. That's when chess is at its cruelest. Ian is a true fighter and a worthy opponent. Took it like a champ.
This Fide WCC was a roller coaster , seeing both sides spectacular performance. Although I was rooting for Ding , seeing Ian panicking at the final moment and eventually resigning makes me feel bad for him. But it is what it is. Congrats to Ding Liren , hopefully chess will finally be recognized by the Chinese.
Ian is so unlucky Ding wasn't even supposed to be in this and yet he won
I wouldn't be surprised if 100 years from now, someone reads the story of the road Ding took to become champion and makes a movie out of it. "Against All Odds"
“The matches reflect the deepest of my soul.”
-Ding
congrats to ding for the insane win!
honestly nepo should also get some praise too for getting so far and his efforts
Well done Ding
