The 2023 FIDE World Chess Championship is a 14-game match taking place in the St. Regis Astana Hotel in Astana, Kazakhstan on April 9-30 between Ian Nepomniachtchi and Ding Liren, who finished 1st and 2nd in the 2022 Candidates Tournament. Reigning World Champion Magnus Carlsen has chosen not to defend his title. The first player to reach 7.5 points wins, while a 7:7 tie will be decided by a playoff. The prize fund is €2 million, split 60:40, or 55:45 if it goes to a playoff. No draw offers are allowed until after move 40.
Each player has 120 minutes for 40 moves, then 60 minutes for the next 20, then 15 minutes to the end of the game, with a 30-second increment starting only from move 61. A playoff will consist of four 25-minute games, with a 10-second increment from move 1. If still tied, up to two pairs of 5+3 games will be played. If tied again, single 3+2 games are played, with colours reversed each game, until one player wins.

Best chess content out there. Keep working! I enjoy your videos daily.
Ding's 41. d5 move was so clever. The move 41… Qb2 stops the white queen moving off the diagonal, but Ding still stops the a-pawn. Also, Nepo was playing fast, the only way he would see all this and not play 41… a2 would be to take extra time. The London System has now gone beyond the realms of a "coffee house" and the "chess hustler" opening. It is also well-known as a favorite of the Botez sisters. To see Ding employ it in the WCC is just awesome. What next? The Dutch?
We just gonna pretend that this man didn't just roast the cry babies at the end of this video? The shade of it all 😁
I played the London system 3000 times so far this yr
The reason I watch this channel is because you overexplain everything and dive into all the intricate lines and supercomputer moves. If others don't like it they can go watch watered down chess channels.
AlgorithmFood!
Well, your video is just the treat of the day, those 25 mins were perfect, you get decent commentary, puzzles for the brain, also highlights of the keypoints of the game, which way your analysis is well balanced 🤝🏻
No! Do not stop explaining and showing the lines. This World championship Chess, at the highest level. Your comments and analyses are top notch! If some cannot follow or do not have time, then this channel and this level is not for them. let them find a beginners channel with the moves only.
A day worthy to be celebrated indeed! What a great time to be alive, and thanks to youtubers like Agad us noobs can witness and UNDERSTAND the beauty of games like these.
This shows how strong Magnus really is.
When I compare this duel between Nepo and Ding to the previous snooze fests, I am even more happy that Magnus refused to defend his title.
Great games with a different opening every time, victories everywhere…
I think it is just the beginning ❤
Whoever wins this WCC will have definitely earned it
Wow! Ding played like a beast.
Keep doing it the way you've been doing it Agadmator, idk who's complaining but I've only ever enjoyed every minute of your content
Magnificent!
There is no such thing as too much explaining! That is why we love this channel!
I actually like to see you explain the moves
Its insane that ppl complain about going into so many lines when the vid is just 25 mins
Its a TWO HOURS plus game
I wish Agad made 45 mins vids
Ding isn't that stable, he missed rb7, which was an immediate end, but instead found a even harder play, but it wasn't a given. Ding is strong, but he doesn't see the obvious, but he won, and Nepo lost.
You are NEVER explaining too much. It’s very much appreciated.
This game shakes the chess world, will last for long long time.
"it's seriously sick, sick stuff" -Anish Giri
Absolutely amazing, and I for one really enjoyed Agad’s commentary. In fact I’d fine it very hard to follow their strategies without it ! So thank you Agadmator for showing and guiding us through a such brilliant game. And what a Hollywood film moment, now it’s 3-3 and all to play for in game 7 !!
What a great game. Great analysis. My only criticism is Does anybody care who makes the symbolic “first move”?
Amazing game and best channel on UTube
Lengthy
agadmator is so good he uploads both his 100% and any% videos at the same time
Agadmator made me laugh with his closing replay of the game without sidetracking! Good final touch with the Ding ending!
Completely disagree as an enthusiast and someone who has played competitively. I don’t see excellence at all, especially in this game
I had low expectations since this championship was delayed and did not have Magnus; but I literally got goosebumps all over when Agadmator finally explained why d5 was played. Amazing
I love when you go deep into the lines. That analysis is the best! Keep it up. Thank you. Best chess channel.
Agad: hello, everyone! welcome to game 6
Lichess: please enjoy this analysis of game 2
Lichess: …from the 2021 world championship
i dont know whos complaining, the reason Ive been watching you for years is because of your analysis
Agad: game 6 always brings it
Michael Jordan: respect nod
If you're not expecting the London system, you eat a banana.
IGNORE MAGNUS 100%.HE DECLINE N THERE IS NO PLACE FOR ARROGANCE IN CHESS. PERIOD!
Game 6 is always a tragedy for Nepo
Why other people makes 1st moves?
i dont need a netflix chess show with drama. this championship series is enough for me
Who would ever “just want to see the move” in this channel?
d5 followed by Qc7 is movie-like
amazing idea, I'm an absolute sucker for quiet deep moves
jUST sHOW movES lol, Agad is savage
Pawn to D5 will be forever known as The Ding. Even better that it was a London D4 pawn.
Nepo's personality and demeanor when he loses is a game make him somewhat unlikeable compared to the boyish, innocent charm of Ding. I think most people are rooting for Ding.
If I could watch 43 minute WCC videos every day from you I would. So elegant in your explanations and passion for the game. No one does it like you!
Yo, dont change whats not broken .. dont think u need to add that useless 'just show moves' section .. any1 can just login on any site and see those. Keep ur style, its made u a great youtuber 🙂 ignore the 3 sec attention span mob
what a match! truly spectacular and awesome lines shown
The part at the end is cheesy and cringe bro. You have a great delivery that works. it aint broken stay true to youself mate, Ya cant please everyone.
In the last position before resigning, why can't Bishop capture Knight?
ding start plan to push the d5 by moving strange rook a3-b3, make nepo knight attack, and nepo queen out of position from protecting b7 pawn
