The 2023 FIDE World Chess Championship is a 14-game match taking place in the St. Regis Astana Hotel in Astana, Kazakhstan on April 9-30 between Ian Nepomniachtchi and Ding Liren, who finished 1st and 2nd in the 2022 Candidates Tournament. Reigning World Champion Magnus Carlsen has chosen not to defend his title. The first player to reach 7.5 points wins, while a 7:7 tie will be decided by a playoff. The prize fund is €2 million, split 60:40, or 55:45 if it goes to a playoff. No draw offers are allowed until after move 40.

Each player has 120 minutes for 40 moves, then 60 minutes for the next 20, then 15 minutes to the end of the game, with a 30-second increment starting only from move 61. A playoff will consist of four 25-minute games, with a 10-second increment from move 1. If still tied, up to two pairs of 5+3 games will be played. If tied again, single 3+2 games are played, with colours reversed each game, until one player wins.

  1. i love the chapter name "jUST sHOW movES" at the end

  2. Do you have a new camera or new lighting? I feel like I'm seeing a big improvement!

  3. Nepo played Bf8 so Ding can give this mate if he spots it 😀

  4. Also, I’ve noticed the AI bringing. Bishops, back a lot.

  5. Every game 6 of any world champian match is Stunning and mysterious….

  6. Please keep exploring the lines!!! The videos have been amazing

  7. Hilarious "just show the moves" section at the end 😂

  8. Forget the haters! You NEVER explain too much.

  9. In the face of all those who make fun of the London System

  10. This championship match keeps on giving! Who needs draws.

  11. can someone please tell me why they are playing so many games against eachother? I am not getting it… how many are they supposed to play? is it just these two against eachother?

  12. To me the most spectacular thing about Queen F7 is that the knight is so perfectly placed on G6 that it covers the perpetualof Queen F4 so it's okay to move the white queen of the diagonal. It's just beautiful

  13. Your analytical videos are why we are here, which muppet in this comment section thinks these videos are too long? Uppercut yourself.

  14. Game 6, tied WCC 2023 brought to you by Magnus Carlsen. Brilliant commentary Agad!

  15. Antonio don't ever stop over explaining, I am sure the vast majority of your subscribers enjoy your commentary, it is very educational. Thank you for the effort you put into your analysis

  16. I hope u can add the time of each player as it really matters

  17. One Love, One Family! Abundant Joy & Celebration! says:

Saved to my chess amazing games playlist thank u!!! Amazing game!

  18. So great to see such victories as this! 🙂

  19. For a regular game maybe just showing the move is ok. But a 30 min video on the world chess champion games is completely justifiable.

  20. Can´t wait to show my colleagues at the library tomorrow. And then keep talking about it with my friends at the bar later.

  21. I needed a banana SEVERAL times during this game! 🍌

  22. That was amazing. I remember such a beautiful mate in the Kasparov-Short world champ match, but Short was clearly outclassed. Here the players are so evenly matched and still entertaining with hardly any draws.

  23. Я теж люблю грати лондонську систему )

  24. It wouldn’t be a world chess championship match if it didn’t have a legendary game 6. Nice analysis!

  25. d5 by Ding Liren, 2023 is one of the greatest moves of all time.

  26. If people don't want the in depth commentary and alternative moves they should go watch a different video. There's a reason why I watch this channel.

  27. I saw the game but it wouldn't be complete without also seeing Antonio's expert analysis and off-beat comments, I salute you sir!

  28. 20:42 this P to D5 is very misleading.
I first thought Ding trying to Queen that Pawn and then …. BOOOM!

  29. For the people crying about "too much explanation" in the world championship games: Agadmator is too nice and you don't deserve him

  30. Who came here and just want to see the moves played by itself? Seriously antonio, that last part was not necessary.

  31. There was a time I thought the over analyzing was too much, but it takes time to learn something and once you do that you start keeping up more and the videos become much more enjoyable. The Capablanca series is something I enjoyed watching once I understood the game……not fully, just better.

  32. Thanks for yet another great match. This is my favourite chess channel for years now

  33. 1000+ for this video, first the excellent explanation of the exciting game, then when I thought it was all over, agadmator is such a nice guy that he is making room for an extra section for the people that are whining about his videos being too long. Hahaha I almost pooped my pants from laughing; I also like that agadmator keeps a straight face during this whole thing, from the beginning where he points out that he has introduce a special section, "Just the moves-section" for the people that don't want to watch an analysis of the game (but they are still here!?), to the end when the section suddenly shows up and, still with a straight face, he plays through the game like he is driving an M3 on the autobahn. Thanks agadmator, your channel is awesome, I watch it from time to time, and it always brings back my interest in chess to the point where I have to chill, because I can't spend all my time on this, then I will starve to death.

  34. I think, based on these six games so far, we might one day look back on this era the same way tennis fans talk about Federer, Nadal and Djokovic all playing at the same time. We are privileged.

  35. Keep your analysis as in depth as you feel necessary, it is what makes your channel great!

On another note now that I have learned that Game 6 in the WCC is almost always a classic, I would love Agadmator to make a series of all the Game 6 games played. It would be great to hear and see Agadmator"s in depth breakdown of great games throughout Chess history.

  36. @adgagamator, Have you considered doing a short version of each game that is primarily the moves and then keeping your normal format. I really enjoy the normal format and the shorts would give you a different medium

  37. I do not see why nepo could not just capture the knight with his bishop at the end? 🤔
