Streamers Battle, August 2022 | Blitz Chess Tournament #41

This is a Streamers Battle that was held on lichess.org on August 22nd, 2022. 8 teams competed in this 2-hour event of 3|0 blitz. Team ChessNetwork was the team I competed for, naturally, along with 395 teammates. Members of the same team do not get paired against each other. The sum of the top 20 performers’ scores equals the final team total for this event. In my mind if you compete for a team, you are a help to a team. Even if you are outside of the top 20 for team ChessNetwork, you are pushing other members to score higher. Moreover, defeating or even losing a hard fought battle to other competitors helps keep the scores of other teams less. Many thanks to all competitors of the Streamers Battle, August 2022, especially those who played for team ChessNetwork. 🙂

I’m a self-taught National Master in chess out of Pennsylvania, USA who was introduced to the game by my father in 1988 at the age of 8. The purpose of this channel is to share my knowledge of chess to help others improve their game. I enjoy continuing to improve my understanding of this great game, albeit slowly. 1. Jerry is my entire “solve my insomnia” playlist. Well done team!

  2. It's moments like 12:00 that make watching Jerry so enjoyable. Even in blunders, he laughs at himself. Good video as always. Thanks for uploading

  3. Why is Jerry’s life so secretive. He’s always so vague. “I haven’t been playing much chess” then tell us wtf you are doing then! We want to know! I also know many of us are dying to know what you chose to do instead of having the biggest chess channel on YouTube and twitch. Jerry was the first big chess channel before the chess boom, if he had been more regular with content and took his channel as his full time job, he coulda been the biggest chess channel out there, so I’m really curious as to what he chose to do instead of that.

  4. "Undefeated and winless"… reminds me of my own record vs Carlsen.

  5. Jerry is like Jesus. He appeared once and this is about 2000 years later. His 2nd coming. 😂🤣

  6. In the second game you could've forced the rooks off with Rf3+ after Rf4+ for a winning pawn ending.

  7. Jerry, love your videos. Just a thought, have you considered berserking more in these tournaments? It would be a way to chalk up more points for your team, maybe set a rule that every time you face someone under 2000 you auto berserk. Good idea?

  8. Watching you play makes me feel like I have no idea how to play chess lol. I’ve learned a lot with your channel. Thanks for the valuable channel 🙏

  9. You crush 2500’s lol. In lichess I’m 1900. I need a coach like you! 🤣

  10. Admire your clear, strong positional play. Very instructive both visually and verbally. Thanks for the good work$!
